The Giants received much-needed reinforcements ahead of another three-city, 10-game road trip as right-hander Logan Webb and right fielder Jung Hoo Lee were reinstated from the injured list ahead of Friday’s series opener against the Colorado Rockies.

Right-hander Tyler Mahle, whose 6.04 ERA is the highest in the majors, was placed on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 27) with a left hamstring strain. Outfielder Will Brennan was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento.
Webb, who is 2-4 with a 5.06 ERA over eight starts this season, is slated to start on Friday night against Colorado. The right-hander’s start against the Rockies will be his first appearance since May 5, when he pitched a season-low four innings against the San Diego Padres due to knee discomfort. Webb was placed on the injured list shortly after, his first time on the shelf since 2021.
Lee, who is hitting .268 with three home runs and a .696 OPS, spent the minimum amount of time on the 10-day injured list with a mid-back strain. He is slated to play right field and bat sixth against the Rockies on Friday night.

With Mahle hitting the injured list, rookie right-hander Trevor McDonald should remain in the Giants’ starting rotation for the time being.
McDonald, 25, impressed as Webb’s temporary replacement in the rotation. The right-hander has a 5.32 ERA over his last four starts, but his inflated ERA is mostly the product of one bad inning against the Chicago White Sox, where he was tagged for seven runs. On Wednesday, McDonald allowed three runs (two earned) over 6 1/3 innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks.
