For the past two years, Black Sheep Brasserie, the French restaurant on San Jose’s Lincoln Avenue, has been operating as half of a twin restaurant concept. The Willow Glen space has been home to Stacks breakfast restaurant during the day and BSB in the evening.

That’s now changed — but the owner will honor the BSB tradition by keeping a few of the French classics on the new menu and offering other dishes as occasional specials.
Nate Habash, owner of the Stacks Restaurant Group and Black Sheep Brasserie, said it was time to switch up the restaurant’s focus to “better align with community preferences.” The new restaurant is called Stacks’ Wild Oak Grill.
“While Black Sheep offered an intimate, date-night atmosphere,” he said, the grill is “designed to be a welcoming, family-friendly restaurant featuring an approachable price point, sports on TV and a great cocktail selection.”
The new menu offers the most popular dishes from the Morgan Hill location of Wild Oak — which Habash opened earlier this year in the former Opa! spot — such as the baby back ribs, pasta jambalaya, hanger steak (with housemade chimichurri sauce), grilled salmon and the house burger.

And there’s good news for longtime BSB fans. “We are also keeping several Black Sheep favorites, such as the tomahawk pork chop, Mary’s roasted half-chicken, rack of lamb and shrimp skillet,” he said.
Black Sheep Brasserie was founded in 2015 by noted South Bay restaurateur Don Durante and business partners as a contemporary version of Durante’s Le Mouton Noir (in English, black sheep), which had a 20-year run in Saratoga.
