The team has not yet finalized whether to activate Davidson, but he will likely be added to the roster.
Davidson, 24, is the Giants’ No. 5 prospect per Baseball America. Over 125 games this season with Double-A Richmond and Triple-A Sacramento, Davidson was hitting .290/.361/.527 with 29 home runs, 94 RBIs and 20 steals.
On Monday morning, Davidson was named a 2026 Eastern League All-Star. In 73 games with the Giants’ Double-A affiliate, Davidson hit .277 with 19 home runs and 53 RBIs. Davidson’s 19 homers were the fourth-most in a season in franchise history.
Davidson signed with the Giants as an undrafted free agent in July 2023 after playing at a pair of junior colleges in North Carolina. He started his collegiate career at Guilford Tech in Jamestown, took time off due to a family matter, then transferred to Caldwell Community College in Hudson.
“He’s a player that’s had to fight for everything that he’s gotten,” said vice president of player development Randy Winn said earlier this year. “As an undrafted player without a whole lot of hype, he’s just went out and produced and played.”
