SAN JOSE – A pedestrian died following a collision Monday night in San Jose, police said.

The incident happened around 8:10 p.m. in the area of Vista Park and Branham Lane, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The pedestrian was taken to an area hospital, where he died from his injuries, police said.

The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to police.
Additional details about the incident were not immediately available.
The investigation was still underway late Monday, and police asked the public to avoid the area.
