Detectives opened an investigation on May 15 and discovered the suspect had shared “inappropriate messaging and conversations” with the girl, San Jose police spokesperson Stacie Shih said in a news release.
The suspect, Shih added, was working as a classroom aide at the time.
Detectives identified the suspect as a 31-year-old San Jose man.
During the investigation, a second student came forward and told detectives she had also been victimized by the suspect, Shih said.
Shih said warrants were issued for the suspect, and on May 21, he was arrested on suspicion of sending harmful material to a minor and annoying or molesting a minor.
