MARTINEZ — A 26-year-old Alameda man has been charged with murder after he allegedly sold drugs laced with fentanyl that led to a person’s death nearly two years ago, authorities said.

The victim, a 20-year-old Orinda resident, died in September 2024, according to the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office. The cause of death was later determined to be “acute fentanyl and para-flurofentanyl intoxication.”
The sheriff’s office said an investigation identified Ulzii Orshikh Batsukh as the person who sold the drugs to the victim. He was arrested Tuesday and formally charged Thursday.

Batsukh is being held without bail at the Martinez Detention Facility.
