Commuters on BART’s Yellow Line ran into trouble early Monday after the transit system shut down part of the line because of an equipment problem.

BART spokesperson Chris Filippi said a wayside train control issue affected BART’s ability to get trains to the Walnut Creek station. As a result, BART closed down the Yellow Line from the Pleasant Hill to Lafayette stations from about 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.
The Yellow Line runs from Antioch in eastern Contra Costa County to the San Francisco Airport.

Engineers solved the problem, Filippi said
The issue caused major delays on the system that still were at least 20 minutes long at 8 a.m.
