Sakura Market, the new Japanese grab-n-go and more spot in downtown San Jose, is officially opening its doors on Friday July 24 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and giveaways.

The popular convenience store patterned after the staple Japanese “konbini” has been in soft-opening mode for the past month at its location on South First Street and Paseo de San Antonio, near the San Jose State campus.
The market offers an instant, DIY ramen bar: Just choose your favorite brand and use the hot water dispensers to make a bowl on the spot. Bentos and onigiri are available, as well as a sushi buffet. Fresh matcha drinks are also created on the spot by Shiba Cha. Coming soon: a sake and beer bar.

The store has planned the following events for its grand opening:
- Speeches from San Jose city officials and ribbon cutting at 9:30 a.m.
- Free Sakura gift bags for the first 100 customers
- Each customer will also get a free gift with purchase (while supplies last).
Note: The store will be closed on July 23 in preparation for grand opening celebrations.
