OAKLAND — Two men with gunshot wounds showed up at an Oakland hospital Monday morning, authorities said.

Both men were uncooperative with police, who are trying to determine where the shooting happened and the motive. Police do believe the shooting happened in Oakland, authorities said.
The men — one age 23 from Oakland and the other, 24 and a San Francisco resident — arrived together on their own at a hospital about 4 a.m. Monday.
A vehicle they apparently arrived in was left at the hospital. But police are not sure if the men drove themselves or if someone else did, then left the scene.

Both men were in stable condition.
Even though police have not yet determined the actual motive, based on prior contact with one of the victims, gang activity has not been ruled out, authorities said.
