OAKLAND — A local resident was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon after he allegedly shaved his girlfriend’s head against her will, causing cuts to her scalp.

The 43-year-old Oakland man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of assault, criminal threats, and domestic violence. He is already facing misdemeanor battery and threats charges, stemming from prior incidents that include two alleged death threats, court records show.
On March 4, at a prenatal appointment, he allegedly told the woman, “If that baby isn’t mine, I am going to kill you.” The following day, irate that he couldn’t find his marijuana, he threatened her again, according to police.

The alleged shaving incident happened two months later, in early June, during an argument at the couple’s Oakland home, authorities said. No criminal charges have yet been filed in that incident, and the man was being held in lieu of $50,000 bail, records show.
Authorities alleged after shaving her, he shoved her head under a sink faucet and threatened her again to dissuade her from leaving the residence. His next court appearance in the misdemeanor case has been set for Friday.
