SAN JOSE — Police on Thursday announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with more than 30 commercial burglaries in the Bay Area over the past year and a half.

The incidents, which primarily involved restaurants and cafes, happened between early 2025 and June 2026, San Jose police Officer Tanya Hernandez said in a news release.
The suspect frequently used an electric scooter as his getaway vehicle, Hernandez said.
Police identified the suspect as a 47-year-old San Jose man and obtained a warrant for his arrest.

On April 30, detectives served a warrant at the suspect’s residence, but he was not home. However, they recovered evidence linking him to the burglaries, Hernandez said.
The Santa Clara Police Department Special Enforcement Team found the suspect June 29, Hernandez said. He was arrested on suspicion of burglary and booked into Santa Clara County jail.
