Anime fans will be gathering in the South Bay over Memorial Day weekend.
They’ll come from all over the Bay Area, as well as well beyond, for the annual celebration of Japanese art and popular culture known as FanimeCon, which is billed as “Northern California’s largest anime convention.”

The convention, which is being promoted as “By Fans, For Fans,” will feature “nonstop video programming, extraordinary costumes, music, games, tournaments, panels and renowned international guests,” according to the event’s website.
FanimeCon runs May 22-25 at San Jose McEnery Convention Center in downtown San Jose.

Prices are $105 for full weekend pass; $70 for Friday; $75 per day for Saturday and Sunday; $65 for Monday; $90 for half-weekend pass (Sunday and Monday); children 10 and under are free when accompanied by a paid admission attendee.
