On Friday, a judge sentenced Zane Ishmael Covington, 54, of Brentwood, to 25 years in federal prison for producing, receiving and possessing child pornography, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Covington pleaded guilty in June. He admitted to “producing visual depictions of sexually explicit content” with two children under the age of 5 in May 2021 and February 2022, prosecutors said, adding that he “held a position of trust” with the victims.
Prosecutors said Covington also received child pornography involving a minor under the age of 10 in August 2025, as well as possessed hundreds of videos and images of child pornography.
In addition to the 25-year prison term, Judge Jon Tigar sentenced Covington to a 10-year period of supervised release and ordered a $400 special assessment, forfeiture of electronic devices and restitution in an amount to be determined on Nov. 20.

He remains in federal custody.
The Megan’s Law website lists Covington as a registered sex offender with convictions for committing a lewd and lascivious act with a minor, as well as possessing child pornography.
He was also convicted in 2014 of 14 counts related to the sexual abuse of a teen girl, according to a criminal complaint filed in the federal case.
Various social media posts identify Covington as the drummer for Locked Up. His Facebook page advertises shows as recently as May 2025, and in 2023, he posted a selfie showing the band’s logo — a grinning face behind bars — tattooed on his arm.
