Cal helped kick things off Friday evening with a football game against Clemson University at Memorial Stadium in Berkeley. And across the Bay, the San Francisco Giants opened their final weekend of the regular season with a night game against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Saturday will be even crazier.
At 1:05 p.m., the Giants will once again take on the playoff-bound Dodgers. The Oakland Roots SC will then play the Phoenix Rising FC at the Oakland Coliseum at 7 p.m.
Rounding out Saturday’s slate of sporting contests, the San Jose Earthquakes will face off against the Portland Timbers at PayPal Park in San Jose and the Stanford Cardinal will square off with Georgia Tech at Stanford Stadium. Both games start at 7:30 p.m.
The conclusion to sports-a-geddon will begin at 12:05 p.m. Sunday, when the first pitch is thrown out at Oracle Park in San Francisco. Fans will likely stick around after the last out to hear beloved sportscaster Mike Krukow speak before he heads into retirement.
