And, now, the date is right around the corner — Oct. 11 at Concord Pavilion.
It’s a dream come true for R&B/soul/hip-hop fans, featuring three of the coolest acts to ever rise from the genres.
The one we are most excited about is TLC, the incredible Atlanta act behind such the ’90s chart-toppers “Creep,” “No Scrubs,” “Unpretty” and “Waterfalls” — with the latter, of course, ranking as one of the greatest singles of the entire decade.
TLC is co-headlining the road show with Salt-N-Pepa — aka, “The First Ladies of Rap.” It will be a treat to see this massively influential hip-hop trio — featuring Salt (Cheryl James), Pepa (Sandra Denton) and DJ Spinderella (Deidra Roper) — deliver such fan favorites as “Shoop,” “Push It” and “Whatta Man.”

The last number on that list was originally recorded with plenty of help from En Vogue, the Oakland outfit which also happens to be a part of the It’s Iconic road show. The vocal troupe’s other well-known offerings include “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel” and “Free Your Mind.”
We had the chance to see TLC and En Vogue perform at the same Concord venue back in 2023 and the show was terrific. Yet, this upcoming gig could be even better due to the addition of Salt-N-Pepa. We’re just hoping that Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins — the T in TLC — is feeling well enough to perform in Concord after being hospitalized and missing dates on the tour due to a medical issue.
