A fatally shot man was found on Friday night in East Oakland, according to Oakland police, who have not released the victim’s name or a possible motive.

Police said a 23-year-old man was found at 10:50 p.m. and pronounced dead at the scene on the 9300 block of Walter Avenue, in the city’s Elmhurst neighborhood. Authorities have not released the victim’s name pending notification of his family, and they did not release information about any arrests made in connection with the shooting or possible suspects.
