Musician Jonathan Meléndez, keyboardist for the band Camilo Séptimo, was killed in Mexico alongside his pregnant wife, 3-year-old daughter and their nanny, according to reports.

Musician Jonathan Meléndez was killed in Mexico alongside his pregnant wife, 3-year-old daughter and their nanny, according to reports.

The deadly violence unfolded in an upscale neighborhood near Mexico City Tuesday night, likely between 5:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m., CNN reported, citing the State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office.

Meléndez, the keyboardist for indie rock band Camilo Séptimo, was found fatally shot inside his apartment as was his wife, 35-year-old Ana Paula, who was four months pregnant. Their 3-year-old daughter, a 21-year-old woman, Aleida Romero Victorio, and the family’s dog were also found dead in the home, tucked in a residential complex in the municipality of Atizapán de Zaragoza.

Victorio was identified by family, who confirmed she worked for the couple.

“She was a very hardworking and responsible girl who did not deserve for this to be done to her,” her aunt, Lorena Victorio Cabrera, told CNN.

Three of the victims — including the young girl — were shot in the head, while the other was shot in the back, the prosecutor’s office said, adding that two of the victims were found with their hands tied. The dog also had its legs bound, officials noted.

Responding officers also found a 6-year-old boy at the scene, reportedly Meléndez’s son, who was alive and unharmed, the office said.

Two people have since been arrested in connection with the grisly killings. One of the suspects was identified by authorities as Diego Sebastián “N” — a business partner of the victim, who “allegedly used that relationship of trust to gain access to the residence.”

Following the tragic news, Camilo Séptimo took to social media to pay tribute to their keyboardist.

“With deep sorrow we say goodbye to our dear brother, Jonathan Samuel Meléndez Ochoa. To his wife, Ana Paula and his daughter, Sofía. They will live forever in our hearts,” the group wrote in Spanish.

“We will always remember him with immense love and gratitude,” they continued. “Today we honor and celebrate his life, his music, his light and what we shared with those of us who were lucky enough to know him and make his way with him.”
