SUNNYVALE — Amazon and Synopsys both disclosed plans to eliminate more than 100 jobs in the Bay Area, separate WARN notices filed with the state Employment Development Department show.

Set to take place on Oct. 20, Amazon will cut 78 jobs in San Francisco and 70 in Sunnyvale.
Synopsys will eliminate 128 jobs on Dec. 12 at multiple sites in Sunnyvale, including its headquarters.

So far in 2026, Amazon has revealed plans to eliminate 917 jobs in the Bay Area. Synopsys has disclosed decisions to cut 183 jobs in the nine-county region.
