A driver intentionally hit and injured two adults and a minor on Sunday, Aug. 16, along Fairbanks Drive in Victorville, authorities said.

Deputies from the Victorville Station Traffic Division arrested Juan Fragoso, 41, on Monday, Aug. 17, at a home in Victorville and booked him for attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
Fragoso was allegedly speeding in a green Chevrolet Tahoe along Fairbanks Drive around 7 p.m. on Sunday as several adults and children were playing basketball in the residential street.
When the people in the street moved out of the roadway to avoid the car, the driver continued to accelerate and hit a 44-year-old man.
Fragoso allegedly reversed and again accelerated toward a group of people standing in the driveway at the 15000 block of Fairbanks. The Chevrolet Tahoe hit a 12-year-old boy and a 38-year-old woman in the driveway, authorities said.

The driver then reversed and pinned a man against a parked vehicle.
Gloria Orejel, a spokesperson with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, said it was the man who had been hit earlier.
Once again, the car surged forward and swerved toward members of the group who were trying to flee, authorities said.
The Tahoe then sped away.
Fragoso was also was charged with kidnapping because he allegedly grabbed the man and dragged him a short distance, Orejel said.
The suspect and the victims did not know each other, Orejel said. As of Tuesday, Aug. 18, a motive remained unclear.
