The Willits Police Department reported this week that a man was missing after apparently being involved in a traffic collision near Laytonville.

According to the WPD, Jose “Johnny” Mandujano, 40, whose city of residence was not specified, was last in contact with family members on Saturday, Aug. 15, when he indicated that he would be attending the Reggae on the River concert in Laytonville, and return home after the event.
However, Mandujano did not return home, and later it was learned that his vehicle, a silver 2007 Toyota Yaris, was involved in a crash near the Empire Rest Area in Laytonville. The vehicle was towed and Mandujano’s cell phone was later located around 3 a.m. the next morning, Aug. 16, by his family members at McCaffrey’s Tow in Laytonville, but the WPD reports that “Mandujano was not present with the vehicle when it was towed, and his whereabouts are unknown.”

He is described as 5-7, 220 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is also described as having the following tattoos: “ORGULLO” on his right forearm tattoo, “MEXICANO” on his left forearm tattoo, and “707” on his neck. He was last seen wearing a black t-shirt, khaki shorts, and black Filas shoes.
