BRENTWOOD — A former employee at Frog Hollow Farm has been charged with setting up a hidden camera in a restroom and capturing his female co-workers using the toilet, according to court records.

The defendant, Carlos Casas-Tapia, 26, of Brentwood was charged with two misdemeanor counts of invasion of privacy. The charges were filed last March, and Casas-Tapia was sent a notice to appear in court, but things didn’t progress from there until just recently, according to court records. After months of waiting, Casas-Tapia is set to have his first court appearance next week, on Aug. 24, records show.
The allegations date back to last December, when a woman who works at the farm discovered a hidden camera in the restroom, authorities said. She wrapped it in a towel and called the Contra Costa Sheriff’s office. When investigators reviewed footage, they found it had captured multiple women using the restroom and footage where their genitals were exposed, authorities said.

But police say the camera also captured something else: Casas-Tapia setting it up. They say the video clearly showed his face as he adjusted it and and placed it toward the toilet, on both Dec. 18 and 19.
Other employees told police they were creeped out by Casas-Tapia. It is unclear when he began working at Frog Hollow Farm. Requests to comment from the farm were not immediately returned.
