SANTA CLARA — The 49ers are bringing in a pair of 31-year-old reinforcements at the position groups hit hardest by injury this training camp.

Defensive end Ogbo Okoronko and wide receiver KhaDarel Hodge are signed and expected to suit up for Wednesday’s 10 a.m. practice on the training fields adjacent to Levi’s Stadium, which is hosting an AC/DC concert at 7 p.m.
In corresponding roster moves, defensive linemen Cameron Sample and Kevin Givens were waived.

This being his fifth team in eight years, Okoronko tore his triceps early last season with the Philadelphia Eagles. Five years ago, he was on the Los Angeles Rams’ Super Bowl-winning team with defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, who’s assumed the same role this year with the 49ers. After three years on the Rams, Okoronko played for the 2022 Texans, 2023-24 Browns and ’25 Eagles, totaling 17 sacks in 81 games.
Hodge also started his NFL career with the Rams, in 2018. He then went on to the 2019-20 Browns, ’21 Lions, and the 2022-25 Falcons. He earned 2024 Pro Bowl honors as a special-teams gunner.
