SONORA, Calif. – A 30-year-old Sonora man is in custody following a fire that scorched more than 200 acres in Tuolumne County over the weekend, according to authorities.

Authorities on Sunday arrested Jacob Williams Haskins on suspicion of recklessly causing a fire, the Cal Fire Tuolumne-Calaveras Unit said in a news release Monday.
The Dove Fire broke out around 2:50 p.m. Sunday in the greater downtown area of Sonora and has burned 225 acres, Cal Fire said. As of 9:05 p.m. Monday, the fire was 10% contained.
Cal Fire said two firefighters were injured while battling the blaze.
The fire also spurred evacuation orders and warnings, which remained in place Monday.

The Tuolumne Community Resilience Center at 18241 Bay Ave. in Tuolumne and the Tuolumne County Transit Center at 12879 Justice Center Drive in Sonora are serving as evacuation centers.
Temporary animal evacuation shelters are available at Tuolumne County Animal Control at 10040 Victoria Way in Jamestown and at the Posse Grounds at 19130 Rawhide Road in Jamestown.
According to Cal Fire, Highway 108 is open, as are Stockton Road and South Washington Street. However, side streets on the west side of South Washington Street, from Symons Lane to Stockton Road, as well as Southgate Drive remain closed.
