Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback-turned-CBS NFL analyst, was arrested in his home state of Wisconsin Thursday night, on suspicion of operating under the influence.

The four-time Pro Bowler, 46, has been released following a brief stint in custody after the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office pulled him over on Interstate 43 around 6 p.m. local time, according to the arrest-detention report obtained by WISN 12 News. He’s due in court Sept. 21.

It’s unclear what authorities deemed erratic about Romo’s driving before pulling him over, but his arrest followed field sobriety tests, which he reportedly botched.
First-time OWI offenses in Wisconsin are usually considered civil rather than criminal crimes, likely resulting in a $150 to $300 fine, according to WISN.

Representatives for CBS Sports did not immediately respond to the Daily News’ request for comment.
Romo retired from the league in 2017 and has since been the network’s lead color commentator.
There’s a lot of hometown pride for Romo, who hails from Burlington — about 35 miles southwest of Milwaukee. That town houses a field named after Romo, who has hosted a free football camp in Burlington annually for over 20 years.
