Simone Biles revealed to fans that she was back in the hospital weeks after “almost dying” amid a health scare in early June.

In a black and white photo shared to Instagram on Thursday, Biles can be seen sporting a hospital gown and shower cap to cover her hair. Despite her struggles, she’s all smiles in the image, which also features her husband, Johnathan Owens. In the caption, Biles said her football-playing beau stood by her during the “procedure” on Wednesday, which just so happened to fall on his 31st birthday.
“His birthday but he takes me to get my procedure,” the 29-year-old Olympian wrote, adding a series of cutesy emojis. “I woke up singing BossMan Dlow’s ‘Talk my S—‘”
Biles did not provide any further information about her condition nor her recent procedure.

On June 6, the gold medal-winner took to social media to let fans know she had suffered a life-threatening medical emergency. She shared an image of a hospital band on her wrist, telling her followers that she has been “in bed resting this week” in wake of the ordeal.
“I’m not one to normally share things like this because I value privacy in today’s age. But almost dying wasn’t on my bingo card earlier this week,” she wrote on her Instagram stories at the time.
“This was one of, if not the scariest experience of my life. Especially since Jonathan was in Indy for practices,” she continued. “I’ll explain sooner or later but s/o to my close circle who reached out, checked in, visited & or sent flowers. Loooovveeee y’all.”
