HAYWARD — A man killed Tuesday in a Highway 92 collision between his SUV and a box truck was identified by the coroner’s bureau Friday as Justin Matthews, 29, of San Ramon.

The collision happened about 3:54 p.m. Tuesday in the westbound lanes of Highway 92 just east of Industrial Boulevard on the approach to the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge, the California Highway Patrol said.
Matthews was the only occupant of a Toyota 4Runner that was towing a U-Haul trailer, the CHP said. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The box truck driver was not injured and remained at the scene, the CHP said.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation. The CHP said alcohol or drugs were not factors.
