SEATTLE — Jackson Flora, the fourth overall pick in the 2026 MLB draft, has reportedly signed with the Giants for $7,997,500, according to MLB Pipeline’s Jim Callis.
Flora’s signing bonus was nearly a million less than the slot value of $8,988,400, meaning that San Francisco will have more money to use to sign other players in this year’s draft class.
Those savings could be used to sign players such as prep outfielder Josiah Kemp (12th round) and Wake Forest infielder Dalton Wentz (16th round). Kemp, a four-star recruit, has a commitment to Oklahoma, while Wentz was a draft-eligible sophomore who could opt to return to school and increase his draft stock.
Flora, who attended Foothill High School in Pleasanton, was considered to be the best pitcher in this year’s draft after posting a 1.06 ERA with a program-record 133 strikeouts for UC Santa Barbara during his junior season.

“We thought he was the best college pitcher in the country,” said senior director of amateur scouting Michael Holmes. “Local kid, knew him in high school, saw him in high school a little bit. Then, what he’s done at Santa Barbara. His combination of size and athleticism, the way he moves on the mound.
“Obviously, we think his fastball plays velocity-wise, but the way it plays in the zone. Just an array of secondaries with his two breaking balls and a kick change. It’s just a real complete mix. And, most importantly, he’s a strike thrower.”
