San Jose police seek assistance in locating dognapped Frenchie

SAN JOSE — Police are seeking the public’s help in locating a French bulldog who was stolen during a burglary in May, authorities said.

Lady was stolen from her owner’s residence on May 1 alongside thousands of dollars in cash and other miscellaneous items, according to a news release from the San Jose Police Department. She is described as having gray fur and a pink scar under her chin.

Police arrested one suspect in Lady’s dognapping — identified as 25-year-old San Jose resident Christopher Ryan Jimenez — in Livermore in June, but Lady has yet to be located, authorities said.

Police initially responded to a call for a residential burglary shortly after 11:30 a.m. May 1 in which multiple suspects broke into a residence in San Jose, authorities said.

Then, shortly after 3 p.m. on May 22, responded to reports of a gunshot on the 100 block of Hillsdale Avenue, authorities said. Responding officers located multiple shell casings but not any suspects or victims. They were later able to identify vehicles possibly associated with the incident with the assistance of SJPD’s Real Time Intelligence Center. Officers also located a victim, an adult man who was uninjured but whose vehicle was hit by multiple gunshots.

In their investigations, officers identified Jimenez as a suspect in both May incidents and obtained a warrant for his arrest, authorities added.

Officers with the Livermore Police Department arrested Jimenez and found the firearm used in the shooting during a traffic stop on June 20, authorities said.

Jimenez was initially booked into Santa Rita Jail in Alameda County, authorities said. On June 22, Jimenez was extradited to San Jose and booked into Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of burglary, assault with a deadly weapon and shooting into an occupied vehicle.
