OAKLAND — A man died Tuesday evening after he was struck by a dump truck while crossing a street in East Oakland, authorities said.

The name of the man killed, believed to be a 37-year-old Oakland resident, has not been released pending notification of his family.
The fatal collision happened about 6:22 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of High Street and Coliseum Way.
According to police, a dump truck driven by a 25-year-old Oakland man was making a left turn from High Street onto Coliseum Way when it struck the man, who was crossing Coliseum Way from the east side of High Street.
The man fell to the pavement and was left pinned under the truck, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the truck driver remained on scene and has been cooperating with traffic investigators.
Police said at this time it does not appear speed or alcohol were factors in the collision.
