MORGAN HILL — A YMCA of Silicon Valley summer camp counselor is facing charges that he sexually assaulted a 10-year-old girl last month in Morgan Hill, police said.

The incident was reported June 30, according to the Morgan Hill Police Department.
During the investigation, officers learned that the alleged assault happened while the victim was attending a day camp at the Morgan Hill Aquatic Center, police said.
Detectives identified the suspect as Anthony Joseph Ramon, 25, of Gilroy, police said.

Police also notified YMCA leadership, who cooperated with the investigation and placed Ramon on leave. He began working for the YMCA on Aug. 6, 2024, police said.
On Thursday, the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office charged Ramon with lewd and lascivious acts on a minor, police said. Detectives arrested Ramon without incident and booked him into county jail. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
