Peninsula Family Service has been selected by the California Department of Education to assume operations of the Creative Montessori Learning Center in East Palo Alto, effective this month.

This addition expands the nonprofit’s Early Learning Program to 10 centers and establishes its first Early Learning Center in East Palo Alto.
The facility name will remain the same and during the initial transition period, there will be no immediate changes to program hours, meals, daily routines or the curriculum. Teachers and staff will be retained to ensure continuity and stability.
“We look forward to working alongside families, educators, community organizations and local leaders to strengthen opportunities for children and build on the strengths of the East Palo Alto community,” Peninsula Family Service CEO Heather Cleary said in a release.

Grateful for Life
Stanford Blood Center donors will receive a “Grateful for Life” tie-dye t-shirt when they give blood this month at mobile drives or centers. There is an immediate need for all blood types, especially types O- and O+.
Donors should be in good health with no cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms and should bring a photo ID. Donors must be at least 17 years of age (or 16 with a parent or guardian’s consent).
