As Pride Month draws to a close, Downtown Vallejo’s TownHouse Cocktail Lounge — the only LGBTQIA+ bar in Solano County — has been vandalized twice in two days, leaving thousands of dollars in damage and prompting an outpouring of community support
The first incident occurred around 1 a.m. Thursday, followed by a second act of vandalism on Friday morning, when security footage captured a hooded individual breaking the bar’s front and side windows.

In response, a GoFundMe campaign was launched to cover the repair costs; though it initially sought $5,500, it quickly surpassed that goal and had already collected nearly $6,000 by Saturday afternoon.

The recurring nature of these events has led organizers and employees to believe the bar was specifically targeted, particularly as it is the only LGBTQIA+ bar in Solano County. The GoFundMe description emphasized the emotional toll, stating that while physical repairs are possible, the sense of being intentionally attacked in a cherished community space is much harder to overcome.
“While glass can be replaced, the feeling that someone intentionally targeted a space that means so much to so many is far more difficult to repair,” read the GoFundMe description.
“Waking up to this damage was heartbreaking. It was a painful reminder that safe spaces like ours still matter and still need protecting. But if there is one thing we know, it is that our community is resilient,” the post noted.
Despite this, organizers expressed confidence in the community’s resilience. Since the incidents, Vallejo residents have shown significant solidarity, providing both financial contributions and messages of support through social media.
