HAYWARD — Hayward Police on Saturday were searching for a “Justin Bieber look-alike” man allegedly suspected of attempting to kidnap a woman Friday afternoon at the intersection of Jackson Street and Soto Road.

The woman told police that the man grabbed her Friday at about 3:15 p.m. as she was walking northbound along Soto Road, according to a news release. He forcibly moved her about 15 to 20 feet as she screamed and struggled to break free, police said.
Two witnesses intervened, allowing the woman to get away as the man fled southbound on Soto Road. Police said she escaped physically uninjured.

Police described the man as white or Hispanic, about 5-feet 7-inches tall, 120 pounds with “bushy hair, thin eyebrows and unique-colored eyes,” according to the release. He wore a white T-shirt with red paint on it, black pants and a black crossbody bag.
Police were unable to locate the suspect after the incident.
