A woman died Wednesday, June 17, after being run over by her own truck on Burnside Road west of Sebastopol, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was reported just before 4:45 p.m. Investigators said the woman got out of her truck for reasons that are still unknown when the vehicle began rolling backward down a hill. According to CHP spokesperson Officer David deRutte, the woman attempted to stop the truck, but was knocked to the ground and run over.
The woman was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where she later died from her injuries, deRutte said.

The woman’s identity was not immediately released and the cause of the incident remains under investigation.
