SAN JOSE — Hundreds of people gathered Thursday evening at San Pedro Square in downtown San Jose to watch Mexico and South Korea face off in the FIFA World Cup.

People stood shoulder to shoulder and even lined the railings of a nearby parking garage overlooking the square. The venue eventually ran out of room, and people were turned away.

Mexico ultimately prevailed over South Korea to secure the top spot in Group A and advance to the round of 32.
