OAKLAND — A man was fatally shot Monday morning in West Oakland, authorities said.

No other information was released about the victim.
The shooting happened about 7:24 a.m. outside in the 1400 block of Fifth Street, not far from the main post office. The man was found with at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A motive for the shooting has not been determined. No arrests have been announced and no suspect information has been released.

The killing is the 25th homicide investigated by Oakland police this year and the second in two days. A man was fatally shot in East Oakland Sunday morning.
Last year at this time police had investigated 35 homicides in the city.
