Officers were called around 11:45 p.m. to an apartment in the 80 block of Descanso Drive, off North First Street for a report of a stabbing. They arrived to find a man and woman suffering from stab wounds, according to San Jose police.
Both people were taken to the hospital, and the woman died from her injuries, police said. Her name was not publicly released pending her formal identification and notification of her next of kin.
The injured man was identified in a Friday news release as being “responsible for the stabbing and was known to the victim,” but police declined to immediately identify him, and said the motive and circumstances behind the attack remain under investigation.
