SANTA CLARA – A person was hit and killed by an ACE train Wednesday in the South Bay, officials said.
The incident happened around 4:55 p.m. on the Union Pacific tracks between Santa Clara and Fremont, according to a San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission spokesperson.
The spokesperson said the train was carrying 519 passengers.
In addition to ACE, the tracks are heavily used by Amtrak and Union Pacific. The incident resulted in delays for trains, including ACE 06 and 08, according to the spokesperson.
