SAN BRUNO — A suspect was arrested in connection with a shooting Thursday night in San Bruno, police said.

Officers were initially called to the area of El Camino Real and San Marco Avenue around 9:15 p.m. for reports of a person running in the roadway with a firearm, the San Bruno Police Department said in a news release. They arrived to find evidence of a shooting, including numerous spent shell casings, but no suspect.
There were no immediate reports of injuries.
Patrol officers identified the suspect as a 32-year-old San Francisco man, police said.
The investigation also led officers to a residence in the 100 block of San Marco Avenue, where they found an unregistered firearm, as well as ammunition and spent shell casings, police said.

The suspect is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing firearms, police said.
The man was arrested on suspicion of crimes related to negligent discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City.
