An Oakland resident riding a motorcycle was killed in a crash with a car Friday evening near the intersection of Foothill Boulevard and 28th Avenue, according to police.

Police said the victim was a 37-year-old man who lived in Oakland. Police have not identified him, pending notification of next of kin.
The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with the police investigation, police said. Police had not made any arrests in connection with the collision, and it’s unclear if alcohol or drugs were factors in the fatal collision.

Police said the motorcyclist’s speed was a factor in the collision.
