SAN JOSE — A woman was stabbed to death in a residential neighborhood here and police say they “quickly” identified the suspect.

The stabbing occurred a little before 2 p.m. Saturday, on the 700 block of Linda Street. The victim died before she could be taken to a hospital.
Police haven’t publicly named her or the man suspected of the killing. Nor have they confirmed whether the man was arrested or merely identified as a suspect.

The man and the woman knew one another, police said. Investigators are still piecing together the motive.
This was San Jose’s 17th homicide of 2026.
