PALO ALTO — A motorcycle rider died Wednesday after a collision between his bike and vehicle, authorities said.

Around 4:30 p.m., police received a report of a major injury collision on the 100 block of El Camino Real, according to a news release from the Palo Alto Police Department.
Upon arrival, police found that a man in his 20s had been riding his motorcycle southbound when he collided with a sedan making a left turn, authorities said. The man was ejected from the motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital by the Palo Alto Fire Department, where he died of his injuries, authorities said. The identity of the man was withheld by the Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office pending identification and notification of kin.

The sedan’s driver, a woman in her 20s, remained at the scene of the collision, authorities said.
The road was closed for about three hours while authorities investigated.
