DALY CITY — A paraglider was injured and stranded after crashing into a cliff Wednesday afternoon in Daly City, authorities said.

The incident unfolded around 4:10 p.m. near 50 Northridge Drive, according to the North County Fire Authority. Crews arrived to find the paraglider stranded several hundred feet below the roadway.
A California Highway Patrol helicopter was used to rescue the paraglider from the cliff, authorities said.

The paraglider – identified as a man – received treatment at the scene and was taken by ambulance to an area hospital with moderate injuries, according to the fire authority.

No other injuries were reported.
The rescue took roughly 90 minutes, authorities said.
