ALTAMONT — A fire burned more than five acres and damaged two outbuildings before it was contained Wednesday evening, authorities said.

No injuries were reported and the cause remains under investigation by Cal Fire, authorities said.
The fire was reported about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the area of Tesla and Cross roads
Smoke from the fire could be seen over a large area. Television cameras captured at least one explosion at the site.

The fire was declared 100 percent contained at 5.4 acres about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Firefighters remained on the scene overnight to prevent flare-ups.
Crews from Cal Fire, the Alameda County Fire Department and the Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department responded to the scene.
