FREMONT — A woman died Wednesday morning from injuries suffered in a fire at her Irvington district apartment complex, authorities said.

No other information has been released about the woman pending notification of her family.
The fire started about 9:20 a.m. Wednesday at an apartment complex in the 4200 block of Irvington Avenue.

Fremont Fire Division Chief Matthew Schneider said firefighters found the woman with significant burns in the hallway outside her first floor apartment. She was taken to a hospital where she later died.
The fire was contained to her apartment and hallway area by 21 firefighters within 25 minutes. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation but authorities said initial reports indicate it appears to be cooking related.
