The Cupertino Library Foundation in 2024 made it a priority to update and refresh the 16-foot-long, 3,240-gallon saltwater aquarium, a key feature of the redesigned Cupertino Library when it opened in 2004. The restoration project includes a refurbished artificial reef and colorful fish.
The unveiling ceremony was to include a special ocean-themed storytime, craft projects, a photo booth and scavenger hunt.

After 36 years spent running high-pressure hotels across continents, Bono is now leading a mission that is reshaping the national conversation on homelessness. The goal of GiveARoof.org is for every individual’s homelessness to end within three years.

Strategizing hope
Author Jen Fisher will discuss her latest book, “Hope Is the Strategy,” on Aug. 17 at 7 p.m. at the Cupertino Library. Fisher will read excerpts from the book and open the floor for a conversation about what building hope as a daily practice looks like. The first 50 people will receive free signed copies of the book.
