A Campbell man was arrested July 21 for allegedly carrying out a string of armed robberies across San Jose in June and July, authorities said.

Andrew Fiddler, 35, was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on suspicion of armed robbery, according to a news release from the San Jose Police Department.
Police responded to the first robbery around 1:35 a.m. on June 18 at a business located on the 5800 block of Camden Avenue, authorities said. Fiddler allegedly brandished a firearm at an employee then fled the scene with stolen cash.
Fiddler allegedly carried out five additional armed robberies at sites such as smoke shops, motels and convenience stores, authorities added. He allegedly robbed a store on the 2300 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard on June 30, a business on 1300 block of Blossom Hill Road on July 15, a store on the 5800 block of Camden Avenue on July 17, a store on the 2500 block of Fontaine Road on July 18 and a business on the 2400 block of Alvin Road on July 20.

During their investigation, authorities determined that the robberies were related and linked them to Fiddler, they added. Fiddler was identified as the suspect using SJPD’s Real Time Intelligence Center, automated license plate reader cameras and patrol officers. Authorities then obtained search and arrest warrants.
During his arrest, authorities also recovered evidence of the alleged thefts, they added.
