A wildfire that started Monday has burned more than 7,000 acres in the Sierra Nevada foothills, making it California’s sixth-biggest fire of the year.

The Gann Fire has prompted an evacuation order for about 100 square miles of Calaveras County, extending to the outskirts of San Andreas and Angels Camp.
As of early Wednesday, it had burned 7,052 acres (11 square miles) and was 0% contained, the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said. The agency’s Tuolumne Calaveras unit is overseeing the firefighting.
