SAN JOSE – A possible road-rage incident ended in a shooting Tuesday afternoon outside Valley Fair mall in San Jose, police said.

Officers were called to a parking lot in the 2800 block of Stevens Creek Boulevard just after 4 p.m. for a report of a person shot, according to the San Jose Police Department. They arrived to find the victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to an area hospital and is in stable condition, police said.

According to police, “a preliminary investigation revealed the suspect and victim may have been involved in a road-rage incident that resulted in the subsequent shooting.”
The suspect was arrested nearby and booked into Santa Clara County jail, police said, adding that a firearm was also recovered. No other details were released Tuesday.

The investigation is “active and ongoing,” according to police.
