SANTA CLARA — A tech company has bought a South Bay office campus in a deal that could leave it poised to expand its local operations after it acquired the property at a price discount.

A subsidiary of electronics manufacturer Fabrinet has paid $76.9 million to purchase a three-building tech complex in Santa Clara, documents filed on July 29 with the Santa Clara County Recorder’s Office show.
The purchase is a fresh example of tech companies increasingly seeking ways to expand and solidify their operations in the South Bay, growth efforts that include industry titans such as Google, Apple and Nvidia.
The Santa Clara buildings that the Fabrinet subsidiary bought have addresses of 2903, 2933 and 2953 Bunker Hill Lane, county documents show.
The all-cash deal for the tech campus could provide Fabrinet with an opportunity to expand its local operations.

The tech campus totals roughly 225,000 square feet, according to the Property Shark commercial real estate database.
That’s roughly three times as large as an existing building totaling 74,000 square feet a half-mile away at 4900 Patrick Henry Dr. that Fabrinet also owns through a subsidiary.
Some companies are leasing space in portions of the Bunker Hill Lane campus. The terms of their respective lease agreements weren’t immediately known.
